The book of Daniel tells the story of Daniel and his friends, taken from home and thrust into the foreign land of Babylon. The culture around them tried to impose itself upon them. Their names were changed, they were pressured to eat forbidden food and to bow to other gods. However, they made a decision to not be transformed by their culture, but instead to transform the culture around them. We need to do the same.
